Why should I use the Avert Platform?
There are two important reasons to use the Avert Platform. The first is to create a database of industry specific snow, weather and avalanche observations that can be mutually shared with other backcountry operations of your choice. The second reason is to have our unique management tool that can analyze your snow science data, organize your day-to-day activities, build a client database, and market your business. Back to top
How does the sharing of snow science data work?
Your data is stored online on a “state of the art” secure data system, and only you are able to decide who will have access to that information, and reciprocal rights may be granted to you. In order to view that data, you will be given a list of all operations that have agreed to share with you. You can view this information by individual operation, or have all shared operations in a single table. Best of all, you will have immediate access to the snow science data once it is entered into the online database via standard web browsers, or on mobile devices. Back to top
What do I need to run the Avert Platform?
The Avert Platform is designed to run on all computers or laptops that have a current web browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari, for example. For remote operations without internet access, the Avert Platform is able to run locally on your computer or laptop. Our mobile solution will run on any PDA (personal digital assistant) such as the Palm or Blackberry, and on any cellphone such as Nokia, Palm, Motorola, Blackberry. Back to top
Why do you offer a mobile solution?
Being able to enter your snow science data on a handheld device like your PDA or mobile phone is an added convenience and, with internet access, a real-time transfer of the data to and from your home base. Even without cellular internet access, being able to simply upload the data to your main computer at the end of the day is much easier than having to type in your field book notes.
